When you visit Frensham you immediately feel the beauty of the pond and the surrounding woodlands. Owned by the national trust there is free parking available with your membership. If not I paid £1.75 for the hour I was there.
The great thing about Frensham great pond is that there is a large sandy ‘beach’ area with access to swim in the pond. On beautiful sunny days it is guaranteed to be full of people going here. During these hotter seasons there is also a snack bar available by the car park. Whilst the beach areas are busy they do not allow dogs. Also, BBQs and open fires are not permitted here due to the area being a high fire risk.
Additionally there is a wonderful walk around the lake which is great to stretch the legs, take the dog for a walk or just sit along the many benches and soak in the beauty.
The majority of the walk is soft sand which can prove difficult for some but it does have some harder trails.
During the winter months when the ground is crisp and it’s cold outside it is also still a stunning walk.
Also, there is a wonderful 4* hotel and spa right next to the pond. Where you could stay in one of their wonderful rooms or grab a bit of afternoon tea.
Across the way is also frenshams younger brother - frencham little pond. This is an amazing walk with many trails and an even better walk. With a post to come.
